UC offers an excellent benefits package, and the health and welfare benefit options are the same for staff and qualifying academic appointments.
Librarians are entitled to appropriate professional development leave and all other benefits granted non‐faculty academic personnel.
Academic employees working 50 percent-time or more accrue vacation leave at a rate of two days per month and sick leave at a rate of one day per month.
Whether you are a new employee getting acquainted with your options, or an existing employee looking for coverage to meet new needs, our Benefits, Health, and Welfare guide can help you find what you’re looking for. Our guide helps new and existing employees map out benefits options with sections covering benefits offered, enrollment, ergonomics, life changes, workers' comp/disability and retirement. We’ll also explore how you can sign up.
If you need any additional assistance with your benefit options, elections, or are expecting any changes for your existing benefits, please check in with your supervisor or contact the Library Human Resources Department for assistance.
