Process for SILS Documentation Site editor access

Purpose:

Outline the steps required to access training materials for Drupal and access the SILS Documentation Site.

Process:

  1. The SILS Functional Area Lead (Lead) identifies staff who need editor access to the SILS Documentation Site.
    1. The staff should have a business need to edit content on the SILS Documentation Site.
    2. The Lead should get approval from the staff’s supervisor.
  2. Lead opens a Helpbox ticket (cc’ing the staff) requesting access to the SILS Documentation Site sandbox for the staff.
    1. The Lead shares Drupal training materials, which will include:
      1. Drupal training folder (UC Berkeley Staff Library staff only).
      2. Style Guide on the SILS Documentation Site.
    2. Library IT staff will include instructions on how to access the sandbox and guidance page.
  3. Staff creates sample page on the sandbox.
    1. Sample page will contain elements outlined in the guidance page.
    2. Staff notifies Lead that they have completed the page via Helpbox ticket.
  4. Lead reviews sample page based on rubric and provides feedback if errors are present via ticket.
  5. Lead updates the Helpbox ticket and requests access to the production environment for staff.
  6. Once the staff member has access to production, they will coordinate with their Lead and functional area on the process for updating/creating pages on production.
