LAUC Statewide (Christina)
-
Jenny Nelson gave update on APM revisions; met with provost at UCOP on 11/1; UCOP will complete their revisions by 2025 (January); LAUC wants 90-day review period; purpose of revisions is resolving internal inconsistencies; suggestion to hold info session for LAUC-B to talk about what we might want to recommend; Christina will speak briefly about this at assembly (will check with Jenny)
-
We received $35,000 from the state for RPD, but needs to be used in this current cycle, and it’s not possible to raise grant amounts this cycle; however, they may be able to award more than what is asked for
-
Regional Library Facilities moving to systemwide governance
-
AI??
-
Galaxy Scholar being implemented as article delivery service
-
LAUC Spring assembly will be March 24 in Davis
-
The different UCs have different abilities to see professional development funds/balances

-
See Salwa’s Notes in Drive in LIBR folder.
-
-
Meeting with the UL (Christina)
-
ExComm can meet with Cabinet 2/12 - can send agenda items ahead, but Cabinet should also have agenda items; would probably want to talk about APM and Spring Assembly
-
We would want to meet the first 30 minutes of Cabinet’s meeting and should be well prepared - we could meet 5 minutes before
-
That meeting would be closed to general LAUC-B members, at least for that portion of the meeting
-
Hoping to learn more from campus about budget’s impact on hiring; perhaps hiring pause while we work on services plan to make sure hires match desired future services. Other UCs going through big cuts now, but perhaps we already went through them. SW doesn’t like using attrition as a way to reduce staff.
-
-

Nadia had a question about budget for candidate and mentor lunches - allocation is for 20 lunches, but it seems like we will need more - Jackie will bring this up

Mentorship (Nadia)
-
Has gotten a couple of mentor requests; wants to get email call out to members before Fall Assembly
-
May make form (or adapt an existing form) for potential mentors to fill out
-
-
Google Drive (Christina)
-
LAUC-B currently has files and a file structure in both Box and in Google Drive; consensus was that it would be easier to just use one, Google Drive; Christina will migrate the files from Box to Drive modeling the same file organization, and Jackie and Becky will help work on permissions structure
