Candidates for LAUC-B Offices
Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect
I’m pleased to be considered for the position of LAUC-B Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect. I’ve worked as E-Learning Librarian in Instruction Services since 2012, and have served LAUC-B and LAUC in a number of capacities. I was a Library Representative on the LAUC-B Executive Committee (2013-2014), served on the 2013 and 2015 LAUC-B Conference Committees, chaired the LAUC Web Content Committee (2015-2016), and currently serve as the LAUC News Manager. I’ve enjoyed working with colleagues across the Berkeley libraries on collaborative projects such as the implementation of LibGuides and EBSCO Discovery Services, and while coordinating library efforts and services related to digital literacy and text/data mining. I would welcome the opportunity to work with LAUC-B and library leadership on efforts to recognize and support the diverse contributions of our members, and to help sustain LAUC-B’s renewed focus on social justice in academic libraries. Thank you for your consideration.
Secretary
I am honored to be a nominee for LAUC-B Secretary. I’ve been a reference librarian at the Law Library since 1989 and have served on various LAUC-B and LAUC Statewide committees over the years including the LAUC-B and LAUC Statewide Nominating and Elections Committees, the Committee on Cultural Diversity, the Committee on Affiliated Library Affairs and the Distinguished Librarian Committee. I have served as secretary on more than one national committee and understand the importance of prompt, accurate and thorough minutes. It would be pleasure to serve my LAUC-B colleagues as secretary of the LAUC-B Executive Committee. Thank you for your consideration.
Library Representative
It is an honor to be considered for the position of Library Representative to the LAUC-B Executive Committee. In my first year as the chemical information librarian at UC Berkeley, I have prioritized the development of my role within the amazing community of information professionals I now find myself a part of. Throughout my undergraduate and graduate studies, I have consistently served in leadership positions within the American Chemical Society, Special Libraries Association and the ACRL division of the American Library Association. I believe my background and experience will serve me well in this role. This position is hopefully the first of many in my career here at UC Berkeley.
Library Representative
I am pleased to be considered for the position of Library Representative to the LAUC-B Executive Committee. As a new librarian in the Instruction Services Division, I welcome the opportunity to be more involved in professional and governance matters that are important to all librarians. I endeavor to foster innovation and strengthen collaborations across disciplines as demonstrated through my work as Coordinator of the Affordable Course Content Pilots (2017-18); participating as one of the curators in the recent Doe Library exhibit “We’re Here, We’re Queer, We’re in the Public Record!”: The LGBTQ Movement and Life as Seen Through Government Information; and developing a two-part workshop series on Microaggressions as a member of the LAUC-B Committee on Diversity (2017-19). I look forward to contributing to the well-being of our LAUC community, and I thank you for your consideration.
Affiliated Library Representative / CALA Vice Chair
I am honored to be nominated for the Affiliated Libraries Representative on the LAUC-B Executive Committee. My role as the Archivist for the Museum of Vertebrate Zoology began in October, 2012. I have been active on the LAUC-B Professional Development Committee (2015 and 2019), and I welcome the opportunity to broaden my service to the Library community by representing the interests of the Affiliated Libraries. Our campus holds amazing collections and I am excited by the chance to serve, represent, and advocate for these collections on the LAUC-B Executive Committee.
