    2. Cataloging and Metadata Council report:
      1. The Library of Congress announced a new policy regarding limited use of ISBD (= International Standard Bibliographic Description) punctuation in bibliographic records. The Feb. 2019 CMC meeting discussed these changes. CMC opted for a policy of limiting the changes, since some make it harder to read elements of bibliographic records, for example serial content notes. Punctuation that is recommended by RDA is still left in. However, incoming new records from vendors and records from the copy cataloging workflow [students are not allowed to edit ISBD punctuation] might reflect different choices.
      2. At its January meeting Sciences Council members suggested a number of topics for discussion by CMC. Heiko M. has been tasked by CMC with forwarding examples of one issue, eBooks records which exhibit field mix-ups/display problems, usually for content notes not displaying correctly. Please remember to forward examples to Heiko M. if you encounter this problem.
  6. Expertise Group reports
    1. Reports were given from the Data Initiatives Expertise Group, Scholarly Communications, Teaching & Learning, and the Library Assessment Advisory Group
