  1. Introductions
  2. Announcements
    1. Jenifer Carter's last meeting as CSG co-chair
    2. New CSG co-chair to be announced soon
    3. Samantha Teremi is the new Evening/Weekend Circulation Supervisor & Technical Processor for the Art History/Classics Library
  3. Clearing Hold Shelves Post-Closures
    1. Best practice to not clear hold shelf immediately after an emergency closure such as PGE power outage so to give patron enough time to pick up requested items.
      1. Don't clear in Millennium or physical book from hold shelf.
      2. CSG will ask LIT if possible to do global update on hold expiration date to prevent accidental clearing.
    2. Discussion of notices/fines during emergency closure
      1. It was asked whether notices should be halted during these outages to prevent fines. However, halting notices does not prevent fines. Changing library hours (which we have been doing) prevents fines.
  4. Service and support animals in libraries, general discussion.
    1. Service animal cheat sheet was shared
    2. Library policy only allows service animals and not emotional support animals.
    3. Comments:
      1. Many locations have had issues with patrons bringing non service animals into the library.
      2. Library is a public space open to others outside of Cal students, staff, faculty, so has a different policy than offices and classrooms.
      3. Not appropriate for front desk staff to ask for medical letter from patrons for emotional support animal.
    4. Would be good to have more support, guidelines, and training for front desk staff surrounding this issue.
  5. Other
    1. Mark Marrow is collecting comments about problems with UC Path.
    2. Libraries are closed to the public on Dec 23, Jan 2, Jan 3.
