Tom Perry-Houts retired from Bindery Preparation Division after taking us through the transition from printed binding slips to spreadsheet binding data. Dori will forward to the btechgrp list Tom's email containing the spreadsheet template as well as further Preservation contact info.

The training server was refreshed 2019-01-14 without issues.
A question was raised about indexing going offline recently. Usually that process requires a restart from III, which can result in some delay. There may be an in-house solution in the future.
IV. Discussion & Open Forum
OKI printers (used for binding slips and labels) may require initial setup by LIT to work with Windows 10. If your unit no longer needs their Oki printer, contact LIT as they are keeping them for spare parts.
Preservation started a pilot program for circulating rebinds: from February 1st through the end of this fiscal year they will use a special fund to pay for rebinds rather than charging them to individual units. I.e., circ rebinds will not be counted against the unit's binding allocation. Only items that have been used (within this time frame) and that need to be rebound qualify. The allocations remain in place for new binds.
Serials Berkeley binds: the new procedures instruct us to place the piggyback barcode on the bottom right area of the front cover. However, for Eastern binding, the barcode should be on the bottom left area. The general guideline is to place the barcode away from the bound edge, and at least
