Library Privileges for UC Berkeley Students who are Unregistered Undergraduates or Graduate Students on Filing Fee Status

UC Berkeley undergraduates who are completing unfinished course work, or graduate students who are on filing fee status, may have their library privileges extended. In order to have your privileges extended you must bring to the Library Privileges Desk:

  • a letter from your advisor
  • your UC Berkeley photo ID
  • payment of $25.00 (check, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover Card accepted)

Once you have supplied these three items your privileges will be extended for six months. You will retain the same privileges you had as an enrolled student. Privileges Desk hours are Monday-Friday 9am-4:45pm, and Saturday 1pm-4:45pm during the academic year. Please check the Library's hours for changes.

Students interested in locating forms for initiating filing fee status may consult the Graduate Division Forms & Applications website, or go directly to the Filing Fee application here.
