CSEIL Annual Report: FY 2004/05

Highlights:

July: CSEIL sponsored a talk by Beth Dupuis entitled "In a Flash and with a SMIL" on technologies for web-based instruction.

August: CSEIL hosted the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) course, "A Field Guide to GenBank and NCBI Molecular Biology Resources," at UCB on August 10 and 11, 2004. It included a lecture and six hands-on training sessions to learn how to search GenBank and many related genome databases. More than 180 people registered for these sessions.

December: The Instructional Statistics Database came up for library-wide use in December. This provides a place to keep group instruction statistics in the four ARL categories and makes generating the Instruction Statistics table very easy.

Six science and engineering librarians participated as Library Partners for Faculty Fellows in the Mellon Faculty Institute on Undergraduate Research during the year.

CSEIL equipment was used for 44 sessions in all categories of instruction.
