- Dartmouth Flood Observatory - Dartmouth University: The Observatory detects, maps, measures, and analyzes major flood events world-wide using satellite remote sensing. The record of such events is preserved here as a World Atlas of Flood Hazard. Also provided are yearly catalogs, large-scale maps, and images of river floods, from 1985 to the present. As the archive of reliable data grows, it is increasingly possible to predict where and when major flooding will occur, and to analyze trends over time.
