Research - Currently Funded Projects

Each year the Water Resources Center reviews research proposals received. Research proposals selected for funding must be both relevant to water issues in California and scientifically sound. Executive summaries and annual reports for funded projects can be found under each of the following five categories:

Category I - Hydrology, Climatology & Hydraulics
Encompasses the physical processes governing water transformations through atmosphere, over land, and in natural water bodies, aquifers, and man-made conduits.

Category II - Aquatic Ecosystems
Encompasses the basic observational, analytical, and theoretical knowledge about aquatic environments and ecosystems.

Category III - Water Quality
Encompasses all aspects of water quality management.

Category IV - Water Development & Management Alternatives
Encompasses economic and systems analyses approach for formulating and evaluating water resources planning, development, and management alternatives.

Category V - Water Law, Institutions & Policy
Encompasses all aspects of institutional framework (policies, laws, administrative processes, and regulations) for developing and managing water resources.
