AIDS Posters (UCLA Digital Library)
- The AIDS Poster Collection consists of 625 posters from 44 countries including Australia, Austria, Canada, China (and Hong Kong), Costa Rica, France, Germany, India, Japan, Luxembourg, Martinique, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Tahiti, Uganda, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The posters were issued by a variety of institutions and organizations to educate and warn people about AIDS and to offer advice and information in visual form. Some are more blunt and graphic than others, and they come in many styles.
- Anatomy of the Human Body, Henry Gray
- This version of the classic 1918 Gray's Anatomy includes text plus 1,247 engravings,
many in color. Searchable by keyword.
- Biotech Graphics Gallery
- "Graphics Gallery is a series of labeled diagrams with explanations representing
the important processes of biotechnology. Each diagram is followed by a summary of
information, providing a context for the process illustrated."

Clip Art for Health Communication
- This online database of clip art from the Health Communications Materials Network, Johns
Hopkins Center for Community Health Programs, contains art from the Media/Materials
Clearinghouse (see below), as well as art that is sent in from HCMN members from their own
project work. Users can search the database, and can then use the images they find as models
for developing their own illustrations.

Diabetes Clip Art (CDC)
- A collection of several images originally used for a CDC patient education publication.
- Food and Agriculture Organization
MediaBase
- MediaBase is a searchable archive of FAO photographs, movies, and graphics. It is
searchable by region and topic.

Health Education Assets Library (HEAL)
- "HEAL is a digital library of teaching materials for health sciences education. It is designed to facilitate the sharing of a wide variety of high-quality, freely available multimedia resources that are currently located across many remote servers." The database may be searched by keyword, media file type, and more, or may be browsed by subject or collection.
- HONmedia Medical Images
- Produced by the Health on the Net Foundation,
this site is a repository of nearly 3,300 images and videos pertaining to 1,700 topics and
themes. It is browsable by major topic and subtopic, includes an alphabetical index, and is
searchable by keyword.
- Media/Materials Clearinghouse
- "The Media/Materials Clearinghouse is an international resource for health
professionals who seek samples of photographs, pamphlets, posters, videos, and many other
media/materials designed to promote public health. The M/MC is part of the Johns Hopkins
University Center for Communication Programs, which is a Center within the Johns Hopkins
Bloomberg School of Public Health." The database is searchable by subject, country,
and format.
- Microbial Mugshots (EPA Office
of Research and development)
- An image gallery of microorganisms produced by staff scientists using electron
microscopy and confocal microscopy for microbe visualization.
- National Center for HIV, STD and TB
Prevention Divisions of HIV/AIDS Prevention Slide Sets (CDC)
- Contains several slide sets on topics such as AIDS surveillance, epidemiology, and
mortality.

National Eye Institute Photos, Images, and Videos
- Contains numerous images on eye disease simulations, eye anatomy, professional/patient
interaction, eye charts, and so forth.
- National Institute on Alcohol
Abuse and Alcoholism Graphics Gallery
- NIAAA provides a series of images that have been used in their publications and
presentations. These include illustrations and graphs on such topics as epidemiology,
fetal alcohol syndrome, the liver, neuroscience, and treatment and prevention.
- National Library of Medicine Image Collections
- Images from the History of Medicine
- "This system provides access to the nearly 60,000 images in the prints and
photograph collection of the History of Medicine Division NLM. The collection includes
portraits, pictures of institutions, caricatures, genre scenes, and graphic art in a
variety of media, illustrating the social and historical aspects of medicine."
- Images from the
History of the Public Health Service
- "This exhibit is an online version of Images from the History of the Public Health
Service; A Photographic Exhibit by Ramunas Kondratas, Ph.D. printed in 1994 by the U.S.
Department of Health and Human Services and the Public Health Service." The images are
searchable via a subject index.
- The Visible
Human Project
- This project is "the creation of complete, anatomically detailed, three-dimensional
representations of the normal male and female human bodies. Acquisition of transverse CT,
MR and cryosection images of representative male and female cadavers has been completed.
The male was sectioned at one millimeter intervals, the female at one-third of a millimeter
intervals."
- PAHO Photography
(Pan American Health Organization)
- Includes galleries of photographs on health promotion, environment, immuniztion,
maternal and child health, communicable diseases, and more.
- Public Health Image Library, from the CDC.
- An extensive collection of still images, image sets, and multimedia files related to
public health. The content is organized into hierarchical categories of people, places,
and science, and is presented as single images, image sets, and multimedia files.
- Superfund
Photographs (EPA Emergency Response Program)
- About 70 photographs of a variety of emergency response situations.
- TDR Image Library (Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases, WHO)
- "Contains more than 11,000 images covering all aspects of TDR's target diseases.
Copies of images can be obtained on request from TDR."
- USDA On Line Photography Center
- Includes photographs in topics such as conservation, diseases, food recovery, food safety, inspection, and pesticides. Also includes historical agricultural photographs and photographs of USDA programs and activities.
