Getting Started
with EndNote 9

Spring Semester 2009
Instruction Available

Instruction for groups of three or more may be arranged at mutually convenient times.  Individuals, classes, or labs can be accommodated, either in the library, or in labs and offices.  Instruction is available to provide an introduction to the some electronic resources available for research in optometry, ophthalmology and vision and health sciences.

Examples of workshops are as follows and can be tailored to accommodate specific needs:

Finding Journal Articles Online

Important resources in optometry, health and vision sciences will be covered.   The primary focus will be on PubMed, Web of Science, Visionet and Melvyl, depending upon the particular needs of those attending.  We will cover use of UCeLinks and time for "hands-on" practice will be included.

Introduction to EndNote X

Workshop will cover basic EndNote functions.  See how to use EndNote effectively to import references to an EndNote library and to insert citations and format bibliographies while writing papers.  Workshop includes exercises and hands-on practice.

Keeping Up-To-Date

Learn how to keep up-to-date on topics of your choice through a variety of methods: RSS feeds;  publishers' journal tables of contents email services; and creation of alerts on specific topics using PubMed, Web of Science, and other relevant bibliographic databases.
