The Earth Sciences & Map Library offers self-service printing, scanning, and copying options up to 11 x 17 for library materials via a BookScan station and printer. Cal 1 Cards, Cal 1 Guest Cards, or Cal 1 Department Cards are required for these services. Please see the Printing, Scanning and Copying page for more information.
Large Format Scanning
The Earth Sciences & Map Library also offers large format scanning and printing services for cartographic materials. Our scanner is capable of scanning maps with a maximum dimension of 42 inches. Maps are scanned at 400dpi and delivered via the web as high quality JPEG or TIFF files. Copies can also be printed or delivered via USB drive or DVD for additional cost.
The Earth Sciences & Map Library handles orders for UC Berkeley students, faculty, staff, and in-person patrons. Interlibrary Services (ILS) handles all other orders. Large format printing of non-cartographic materials (e.g., architectural plans, posters, technical drawings) is available at the Moffitt Copy Center and other local copy shops.
UC Berkeley faculty, students, staff and in-person patrons: please visit the Earth Sciences & Map Library circulation desk to discuss your options and fill out our order forms. Orders can be accepted 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday.
All Other Patrons: please complete the ILS Map Duplication Request Form.
