Library Resources for MFE Students

Fall 2009

The following online and print resources provided by the Long Business Library are key to finding information required for this program. Use the Library proxy Server to access the electronic resources from off-campus.

Books

Berkeley has two library catalogs, each with benefits and drawbacks.

OskiCat:

  • is only for UC Berkeley
  • can restrict searches to only books in the Business Library
  • can't show Law Library or other "affiliated" library holdings
  • will be replaced by OskiCat later this semester

NextGen Melvyl Pilot

  • is for the entire UC system
  • is slightly more forgiving in its search results
  • can show holdings outside of UC, for interlibrary loan purposes
