Interpretive Programs Committee
Charge:
- Cultivate, review and select proposals for exhibits for the exhibit spaces historically
overseen by the Library Exhibits Committee (Brown Gallery (Doe Library), Spotlight Showcase
(Doe Library), Moffit Library's exhibit cases) to best represent UCB Library collections,
services and initiatives for general audiences.
- Review national models and resources of the American Library Association, Association of
College and Research Libraries, and other professional organizations, and innovative
techniques from other institutions.
- Develop a toolkit of approaches useful for promoting library services, collections, and
expertise, and serve as a resource for UCB Library staff seeking ideas for promoting new
resources and services.
- Research and propose specific activities to promote library services, collections, and
expertise including areas such as traditional services, new services, social web tools,
exhibits, and special events.
Membership:
Approximately six library staff representing different units and
specialties, with one member from the Library Development Office. Members
appointed after an open call for volunteers. Usually 3-4 positions filled
each year, each with two year appointments. For the first year, members
will be appointed with staggered terms.
